Developed by Russian media artist Dmitry Morozov, this particular painting robot was built around an old printer and upgraded using a variety of modern motors and valves. The system makes use of a special algorithm that takes different sound parameters into account before interpreting them as brush strokes. The algorithm also takes into account the speed at which paper moves through the machine, enabling it to create stunningly unique works of [abstract painting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pointillism). The end result is a painting robot that embraces the ethos of abstract art in a matter that would make Jackson Pollock himself proud. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.8/10 - Popularity: 14% | Activity: 33% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [AI](https://www.trendhunter.com/ai) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Electromechanical Artwork:** Innovative electromechanical technologies provide disruption to the art industry by automating traditional painting methods. - **Algorithmic Painting:** By using an algorithm to interpret sound parameters as brush strokes, painting robots showcase new innovations in software application to art. - **Sound-influenced Artwork:** Painting robots that create abstract artwork influenced by music disrupt the art industry by introducing new ways of engaging with and interpreting sound. ### Where This Applies - **Artificial Intelligence:** The integration of AI into painting robots disrupts the art industry by introducing new methods of art creation never before seen. - **Electronics:** With the use of electronics and modern motors, art can be created and designed in a disruptive way by automating traditional methods. - **Technology:** Technology can disrupt the art industry by introducing new and innovative ways to create and engage with artwork. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [AI-Powered Painting Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loklik-ipaint.md) - [Advanced Painting Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-automation.md) - [Artistic AI Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sketcher-x.md) - [Drone-Assisted Landscape Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/katsu-1.md) - [Motion Liquid Art Distortions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lidris.md) - [Music AI-Generated Visual Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modem.md) - [Colossal AI Artworks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-artwork.md) - [Leftover Househouse Paint Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paint-drop.md) - [Voice-Activated Wall Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fraimic.md)
