Artist Liza Lou unveils her new work at the [Painting exhibition](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kennedy-yanko) taking place at the Legmann Maupin Gallery in New York. There are 12 new pieces that are defined by their [colorfully captivating look](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/colorama). Made up of tens of thousands of [colorful glass beads](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/giga-pearl), it is meant to replicate the look of brushstrokes.

At a closer glance, there is a blend of paint and pixels cohesively applied on the canvas. Lou is inspired by her experience viewing paint under a microscope and pushes her creative boundaries to new possibilities. The beads are large pigment particles and they come together to create a three-dimensional pixelated view. All of the works were created in her studio in the Mojave Desert.
