Sampson turns regular objects into [light fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tangent-lamp) including paint rollers, pots and dust brushes. The light is essentially a form of repurposing the tool from its traditional usage -- in this case, as a light. In this instance, Sampson has created what appears to be a partly painted roll with attached paint roller complete with a lightbulb. This odd light will surely shock friends and act as a great conversation piece. The paint roller lamp is available in pink, rainbow and even a [customizable graphic](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/customizable-lighting-fixtures) of your face (perfect for narcissists). These lamps are available on Natalie Sampson's website and would make the perfect addition to any hipster abode. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 56% | Activity: 40% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Repurposed Light Fixtures:** Turning regular objects into innovative light fixtures opens up opportunities for creative and sustainable design. - **Customizable Lighting:** The trend of customizable light fixtures allows consumers to personalize their lighting solutions to reflect their own unique style and preferences. - **Conversation Piece Lighting:** Creating unique and eye-catching light fixtures can act as conversation starters, adding an element of intrigue and personality to any space. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can capitalize on the repurposed light fixtures trend by offering unique and creative lighting options for consumers. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate customizable lighting solutions to create personalized and distinctive atmospheres for their clients. - **Art and Design:** Artists and designers can explore the concept of conversation piece lighting to create functional art pieces that provoke and engage viewers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Quirky Common Item Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/table-lamp-lighter.md) - [Pencil Shaving-Inspired Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sharpener-lampshades.md) - [Ice Cream-Resembling Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soft-serve-lamp.md) - [Sporty Wall-Mounted Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/3dprinted-lamp-1.md) - [Oversized Pen Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bic-lamp.md) - [Fruit-Inspired Lighting Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/banana-lamp.md) - [Organically Shaped Shadow Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loops-lamp.md) - [Suspended Halo Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lamplox-minimalist-floor-lamp.md) - [Artistic Magnetic Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scacco-matto-lamp.md)
