# Gamer Ghost Quilts The Pac-Man Crochet Blanket Lets You Bring Blinky to Bed By Michael Hines | Published 2013-10-07 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pacman-crochet-blanket References: [technabob](http://technabob.com/blog/2013/10/02/pac-man-ghost-crocheted-blanket/) & [etsy](http://www.etsy.com/listing/102105912/pac-man-red-ghost-8-bit-crochet-blanket?ref=shop_home_active) This Pac-Man crochet blanket is easily one of the geekiest ways to stay warm this winter. The blanket was created by [Etsy](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arcade-clock) merchant Ki, owner and proprietor of the store AtomicBits. Ki is offering two versions of her blanket: a red Blinky and an orange Clyde. The blankets are as detailed as they can be (the game was 8-bit, after all) and are made from anti-allergic yarn. The Pac-Man crochet blanket is two-feet square, so it's more of a throw/decoration than a functional blanket. Still, what better way to warm your legs in the winter when you're playing Xbox. In addition to the Pac-Man crochet blanket, Ki also makes [Kirby](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/powera-1), [Super Mario](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/super-mario-meets-gelato-pique) and Dragon Quest blankets. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.2/10 - Popularity: 11% | Activity: 16% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/games) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Geeky Crochet Blankets:** Creating crochet blankets inspired by popular gaming icons provides an opportunity for geek culture enthusiasts to showcase their interests in a unique and functional way. - **8-bit Retro Gaming:** Utilizing the nostalgic appeal of 8-bit graphics in products such as Pac-Man crochet blankets taps into the growing trend of retro gaming and appeals to gamers seeking a nostalgic connection. - **Gaming-inspired Crafts:** The emergence of gaming-inspired crafts like Pac-Man crochet blankets highlights the market demand for unique and personalized items that cater to gaming enthusiasts, offering opportunities for artisans and crafters to explore new product creations. ### Who This Affects Most - **Craft Supplies:** The popularity of gaming-inspired crafts like Pac-Man crochet blankets presents a potential market for craft suppliers to offer specialized materials and tools catered to this niche. - **E-commerce Platforms:** As the demand for gaming-inspired products like Pac-Man crochet blankets grows, e-commerce platforms can capitalize on this trend by providing a dedicated marketplace or category to showcase and sell such unique creations. - **Gaming Merchandise:** Gaming merchandise companies can tap into the market of gaming enthusiasts by collaborating with artisans and creators to produce licensed products like Pac-Man crochet blankets, providing fans with more options to express their passion for video games. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Pillow-Like Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arcade1up-pacman-couchcade.md) - [Arm-Freeing Blanket Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bauhutte-wata-tank-blanket.md) - [Nostalgic Tech-Themed Blankets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apple-macintosh.md) - [Pixelated Gamer Smart Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/govee-pacman-gaming-pixel-light.md) - [Video Game-Inspired Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pac-man-side-table.md) - [Cold Weather Anime Blankets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pokmon-fluff-blanket.md) - [Arcade Game Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pacman-arcade.md) - [Tortilla Throw Blankets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tortilla-throw-blanket.md) - [Dedicated Desktop Character Microphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pacman-microphone.md)
