The building is actually still in the phase of construction and was inspired by architectural ruins and spiritual symbols of the region. The structure is set to contain 18 guest villas, a swimming pool, a sun lounge, spa facilities, a roof garden and a restaurant. The use of exposed concrete, tiles and wood draws classical elements of a previous civilization coupled with an aesthetic that draws its inspiration from an alternate world. "Like pods of little whales, the off-form concrete villas swim together, entwining with native pandanus and rosewood trees in the face of trade winds and frequent cyclones," describes Bennetts on the structure of the villas, the photographer for the site. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.0/10 - Popularity: 12% | Activity: 11% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Ancient-inspired Architecture:** Explore opportunities to incorporate architectural ruins and spiritual symbols into modern hotel designs. - **Experiential Hospitality:** Create immersive hotel experiences that transport guests to alternative worlds and civilizations. - **Integration of Nature:** Find ways to merge hotel structures with natural elements for a harmonious and sustainable design. ### Who This Affects Most - **Hospitality:** The hospitality industry can embrace the trend by creating unique hotel experiences that blend ancient aesthetics with modern amenities. - **Architecture:** Architects can discover new opportunities to incorporate historical and spiritual influences into their designs for hotels and other structures. - **Tourism:** The tourism industry can benefit from promoting and developing hotels that offer guests a chance to immerse themselves in ancient and alternative cultures. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Monumental Concrete Hotel Suites](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folly-mojave-series.md) - [Beachside Architectural Retreat](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/suuel-hotel.md) - [Dynamic Mexican Suite Resorts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paradero.md) - [Organic Cliffside Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/intaaya-retreat.md) - [Hotel Ground-Transformed Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/duho-pavilion.md) - [Earthy Tonal Coastal Hotels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mylos-hotel.md) - [Brutalist Mexican Hotels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brutalist-mexican-hotel.md) - [Sustainable Thatch Hut Resorts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kona-village-resort.md) - [Stone-Textured Island Resorts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/patina-maldives.md)
