# Sleek City Fixtures OZO Urban Furniture Gives Metropolitan Infrastructure a Facelift By Amelia Roblin | Published 2011-09-05 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ozo-urban-furniture References: [industrialdesignserved](http://www.industrialdesignserved.com/gallery/OZO/952760) Most city slickers can attest to the disrepair of many metropolitan facilities, so it was the idea of two designers to develop the OZO Urban Furniture Line as a sort of clean slate. The concept collection of [lampposts, curb lights, benches, bus shelters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/urban-lighting-innovations) and garbage cans is quite consistent in its streamlined and [modular aesthetic](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shift-pro), offering an industrial, practical and elegant way to redress the city streets. A curved bow-tie cross-section can be found within the tubular forms of every object, and while the separate amenities need not be combined together, their analogous images embody a polished and well-conceived theme. Luis Castanheira Santos and Ricardo Esteves Corga collaborated on the OZO Urban Furniture Line with an invested interest in promoting safety, comfort and cleanliness. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 67% | Activity: 20% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Modular Urban Furniture:** The OZO Urban Furniture Line showcases the value of modular and streamlined design in improving metropolitan infrastructure. - **Industrial Minimalism:** The consistent and minimalist aesthetic of the OZO Urban Furniture Line inspires opportunities for industrial style design, providing an alternative to traditional outdoor fixtures. - **Urban Safety and Comfort:** The OZO Urban Furniture Line prioritizes safety and comfort for city dwellers, promoting opportunities for innovation in public safety technology and urban planning. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Urban Planning:** The OZO Urban Furniture Line offers design solutions that can inspire innovation in urban planning, promoting the integration of functional and trendy elements in city projects. - **Outdoor Furniture and Fixtures:** Industrial design innovations inspired by the OZO Urban Furniture Line can be applied to various applications in outdoor furniture production and city fixture manufacturing industries. - **Public Safety Technology:** The OZO Urban Furniture Line's commitment to promoting safety and comfort in metropolitan areas can spur innovations in public safety technology in cities that prioritize secure and friendly public spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Urban Structural Street Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/symbiotic-urban-furniture.md) - [Interactive Purposeful Urban Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/urban-furniture1.md) - [Inclusive Modular Cityscape Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/urban-bench.md) - [Milan Streets-Inspired Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/il-salotto-milanese.md) - [City-Honoring Furniture Projects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/symbiotic-urban-furniture-project.md) - [Tree-Inspired Modular Outdoor Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orixe.md) - [Sustainable Concise Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tube-collection.md) - [Unconventional Outdoor Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-joy-furniture.md) - [Outdoor-Ready Structural Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/outdoor-collection-1.md)
