The adorable security system is [app-connected](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ulticam) and will communicate with the homeowner when occurrences such as movement detection happen. Ulo’s small size makes it the ideal camera for home surveillance. It uses both audio and video to keep track of goings on within the home. The device can be accessed via any technological device from [iPads](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/phonitor) to laptops. The owl-like surveillance camera blends into homes as an accessory or small toy, which makes it the perfect disguise if an intruder enters the home. The camera uses its large owl eyes to interact with the user. It can blink, squint and look around just like a real live creature. The user can even change the color of Ulo’s eyes using the app, and when a live photograph is taken, Ulo looks like it’s winking at the subject. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.5/10 - Popularity: 89% | Activity: 98% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Smart Home Security:** The Ulo camera represents a trend in interactive and app-connected home surveillance systems. - **Disguised Surveillance:** The owl-like appearance of the Ulo camera taps into the trend of hidden and inconspicuous security devices. - **Interactive Surveillance:** The Ulo camera demonstrates the trend of incorporating interactive features, such as blinking eyes and color customization, into surveillance technology. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Smart Home:** The Ulo camera aligns with the growing industry of smart home devices, specifically home security systems. - **Consumer Electronics:** The Ulo camera disrupts the consumer electronics industry by offering a unique and stylish approach to home surveillance. - **Home Decor:** The Ulo camera provides an opportunity for the home decor industry to integrate functional surveillance devices into stylish and decorative pieces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Movement-Analyzing Security Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ola-2-security-camera.md) - [Cute Webcam-Covering Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cover-me-camera.md) - [Decor-Inspired Security Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-home-camera.md) - [Privacy-Focused Security Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/visio-wifi-camera-concept.md) - [Novel Home Security Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/home-security-concept.md) - [Nature-Friendly Security Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reli-light-cam-d1.md) - [Playful Spherical Webcam Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/milo-webcam-concept.md) - [Portable Camera-Equipped Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ilma-lamp.md) - [360-Degree Commercial Security Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rum-camera-and-speaker.md)
