The camera works by incorporating both a [forward-facing and an inside-facing camera](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ddpai-z90-master), which work in unison to keep an eye on the outside and the interior of your vehicle. The unit will record footage 24/7 and upload it to the cloud thanks to [4G](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eufy-4g-starlight-camera) connectivity, which eliminates the need for traditional memory cards that could be stolen during a robbery or damaged in an accident. The 'Owl Cam' dash cam can also work as a security system by alerting you if it detects anything happening in and around your vehicle when you aren't around. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.2/10 - Popularity: 48% | Activity: 71% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Cloud-connected Dash Cams:** The integration of cloud connectivity in dash cams allows for constant recording and storage of video footage. - **Dual-lens Dash Cams:** The use of dual lenses in dash cams provides comprehensive coverage of both the outside and inside of vehicles. - **Integrated Security Systems:** Dash cams with security features can serve as multi-functional devices, alerting users to potential threats and incidents. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Automotive Technology:** The automotive technology industry can capitalize on the demand for advanced safety and surveillance features in vehicles. - **Cloud Storage:** The cloud storage industry can provide secure and reliable storage solutions for dash cam footage. - **Home Security:** The home security industry can explore integrating dash cam technology into their existing systems for enhanced surveillance. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dual-Direction Rearview Dash Cams](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wolfbox-g900.md) - [360-Degree Dash Cams](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dash-cam-omni.md) - [LTE-Connected Dash Cams](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/70mai-dash-cam-4k-omni.md) - [720-Degree Dash Cams](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/panoramic-dash-cam.md) - [AI-Powered Dash Cams](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nextbase-iq.md) - [AI-Powered Dash Cams](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nextbase-1.md) - [Voice-Controlled Dual Dash Cams](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dual-dash-cams.md) - [LTE-Enabled Dash Cams](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/garmin-dash-cam-live.md) - [Connected 4K Dash Cams](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nextbase-622gw-dash-cam.md)
