The [snap-together](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magnetic-building-set) OwiKits Solar Building Kit lets your child create two planes, an airboat, a car, a puppy, and a windmill out of a solar panel, a motor and a number of assorted parts. Craig Morioka, the president of OwiKits, notes the kits were made to "[involve, engage and educate](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/science-activity-kits)." I love Morioka's rationale behind the OwiKits Solar Building Kit, and hope the product does well in stores. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.0/10 - Popularity: 35% | Activity: 18% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Renewable Energy Toys:** The OwiKits Solar Building Kit is a prime example of the growing trend of renewable energy toys that empower children to learn about and play with clean energy technology. - **STEM Education:** The OwiKits Solar Building Kit is a great tool for promoting STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education, as it combines hands-on building with solar power experimentation. - **Sustainable Play:** The OwiKits Solar Building Kit is part of a larger trend of sustainable play, where toys are designed to be eco-friendly and encourage children to embrace environmentally conscious practices. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Toy Manufacturing:** Toy manufacturers can tap into the renewable energy toy trend by creating products that teach children about alternative energy sources while still providing entertainment and engagement. - **Education:** Educational institutions and organizations can incorporate the OwiKits Solar Building Kit into their curriculum to teach students about renewable energy and sustainable technology. - **Renewable Energy:** The renewable energy industry can leverage products like the OwiKits Solar Building Kit to foster a future generation of environmentally aware individuals who are excited about clean energy solutions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Solar-Powered Rover Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solar-rover-kit.md) - [Green Community Building Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arckit-greenscape-village.md) - [3-in-1 STEM Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spiral-spring-science-kit.md) - [Light-Powered Racing Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightn-race.md) - [Interactive Windmill Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kullerbu-windmill.md) - [Learning-Focused Robotics Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/robots-in-motion.md) - [Solar-Powered Race Vehicle Innovations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solarpowered-race-vehicle.md) - [Digital Magnetic Toy Models](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tenki-spliced-magnetic-attraction-toy.md) - [STEM-Driven Building Block Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-education-science-kits.md)
