Outpost Office created a temporary performance venue using robots controlled by GPS. The Ohio-based studio designated a grassy area as the venue space. The team used water-soluble paint to draw site-specified areas to produce an unconventional stage setup.

The robots drew temporary patterns using non-toxic paint that recalled sports line-markings, acting as a [temporary art installation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forest-dancer) and venue space in one. Ragdale was the chosen site for the project -- a former summerhouse of the late architect Howard Van Doren Shaw in Illinois. Drawing Fields was designed as a response to the Ragdale Ring competition's theme of mobility. Designers were challenged to build [temporary performance venues](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/what-goes-around-bandstand) on the Ragdale grounds. Each field drawing took two days for the robots to install.
