# Outlet-Hiding Floating Shelves Multiple Devices Can Be Balanced on This Floating Wall Shelf By Ell Smith | Published 2017-07-06 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/outlet-hiding-floating-shelves References: [behance.net](https://www.behance.net/gallery/38265633/Floating-wall-shelf?tracking_source=curated_galleries_list) & [oitenta](http://www.oitenta.com/) Outlets that appear mid-wall are not only visually irritating, they're inconvenient to use, but this [floating wall shelf](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shelf-life) aims to serve as a solution to that lack of functionality as it's designed to be attached over wall outlets, hiding them and allowing the shelving to be used as a balancing surface for [charging devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/powerbug). This small shelf features a simple design constructed from pine wood -- a light color that elicits notes of modern comfort. The unit is equipped with a small orange chord which helps the user access the contents within the shelf. The unit is stable enough to hold an [alarm clock](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/desk-clock-1) or a small planter on top of it and it comes with an elastic band wrapped around the perimeter to hold your wallet, notebook or other light valuables. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.7/10 - Popularity: 85% | Activity: 79% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Outlet-hiding Furniture:** Design and produce furniture pieces that can cleverly conceal wall outlets, providing both functionality and aesthetics. - **Multi-device Charging Solutions:** Develop innovative charging solutions that can accommodate and balance multiple devices on floating shelves or other surfaces. - **Integrated Storage and Power Solutions:** Create furniture and shelf designs that incorporate hidden power outlets and convenient storage compartments for seamless organization and charging. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Expanding product lines to include outlet-hiding furniture options to cater to customers in need of functional and stylish solutions. - **Consumer Electronics:** Collaborating with furniture manufacturers to develop multi-device charging solutions that enhance user convenience and reduce clutter. - **Interior Design:** Incorporating integrated storage and power solutions into interior design projects, providing clients with innovative and practical design options. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Tech-Charging Book Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/haaase-liesma-bookshelf.md) - [Discreet Folding Shelf Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folding-shelf.md) - [Wood Desk Shelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/desk-shelf-pro.md) - [Clock-Accented Shelf Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/omega-shelf.md) - [Minimalist Desktop Shelving Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balolo-setup-cockpit.md) - [Versatile Modern Shelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/utility-shelf.md) - [Ultra-Chic Wall Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wall-desks.md) - [Design-Conscious Extension Cords](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/willow-power-supply.md) - [Timber Clamp-Equipped Smartphone Mounts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iphone-desk-shelf-mount.md)
