Designed by [Saudi Bigert & Bergstrom](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sindalah), the 'Solar Egg' sauna was developed to offer the inhabitants of Kiruna a place to relax, unwind and socialize amidst the changing landscape around them. The geographical location of Kiruna is rich with iron ore, which has helped the town to maintain a strong mining community since the 19th century. As supplies require more aggressive tactics to obtain them, the fractioning process is changing the landscape and subsequently the lifestyles of the inhabitants. The 'Solar Egg' outdoor sauna was commissioned by Riksbyggen and features a heart-shaped central heater, pine flood decking and wall panels, and benches crafted from aspen wood. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.8/10 - Popularity: 69% | Activity: 38% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Gilded Design Aesthetic:** Opportunity for incorporating luxurious and visually appealing design elements into various products and services. - **Renewable Energy:** Opportunity to harness the power of the sun and utilize renewable energy sources for different applications. - **Changing Landscapes:** Opportunity to create solutions that adapt to and integrate with rapidly changing physical environments. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Luxury Goods:** Disruptive innovation opportunity to introduce gilded and opulent design elements into high-end products and services. - **Energy:** Disruptive innovation opportunity to revolutionize the energy industry by developing and implementing innovative renewable energy solutions. - **Urban Planning:** Disruptive innovation opportunity to design and develop adaptable infrastructure and buildings that can withstand and thrive in changing landscapes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modern Mobile Sauna Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aquila-sauna.md) - [Architectural Home Saunas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-luminar.md) - [Timber Sauna Structures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jonas-sauna.md) - [Reflection-Inducing Floating Saunas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trosten-floating-sauna.md) - [Portable Exterior Sauna Tents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/outdoor-tent-spa.md) - [Mobile Sauna Trailers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-aquila.md) - [Portable Luxury Saunas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thermowood-minicube-sauna.md) - [Communal Wooden Peninsula Saunas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hotspot.md) - [View-Overlooking Portable Wooden Saunas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/saunabivak.md)
