In an effort to infuse the space with as many plants as possible, the author designed a [hanging faux light fixture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/suspended-lighting-installation) infused with green shrubs. To produce the Outdoor Plant Chandelier, those who recreate this piece will need plywood, [plastic pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hemisphere), a double loop chain and a jigsaw. Each step is listed in a sequential manner, making the process easy to follow once all the tools have been acquired. A [circular fixture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pell-chandelier) is used to create five rings from which the pots are hung. The chains are then attached to wooden boards hanging above the backyard, making for a new take on pottery. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.9/10 - Popularity: 98% | Activity: 70% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [DIY](https://www.trendhunter.com/diy) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Vertical Gardening:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in creating vertical gardening solutions that maximize space and allow for easy maintenance. - **DIY Home Decor:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in providing DIY home decor solutions that allow for customization and personalization. - **Sustainable Living:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in developing sustainable living solutions that promote greenery and self-sufficiency. ### Where This Applies - **Home Improvement:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the home improvement industry by providing innovative and sustainable gardening solutions. - **Craft and Hobby:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the craft and hobby industry by developing DIY home decor kits and products. - **Sustainable Agriculture:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the sustainable agriculture industry by creating vertical gardening systems for urban environments. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Plant-Inspired Dynamic Chandeliers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blossom-chandelier.md) - [Artsy Hanging Plants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-air-plant-mobile.md) - [Disco-Inspired Hanging Planter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/disco-ball-plant-hanger.md) - [Chandelier-Shaped Self-Watering Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/selfwatering-vase.md) - [Contemporary Macrame Plant Hangers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/macrame-plant-hanger.md) - [Plant-Supporting Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/led-growlight.md) - [Living Plant DIY Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/green-hideaway.md) - [Posh Plant-Supporting Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ample-plant-light-n1.md) - [Vibrant Dynamic Wall Plant-Hangers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floos.md)
