A picnic blanket is an essential item for any kind of outdoor trip, whether it be a week-long hiking trip or a day outing to a nearby beach. But even the best outdoor blanket can't solve the inconvenience and discomfort of having to eat on the ground, without a proper surface. Sometimes, with luck, there's an available picnic table, but often public outdoor tables are dirty or crowded. This outdoor blanket proposes a unique solution. The Tablanket is a [portable, hard-covered case that opens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-folding-table) to reveal a blanket tucked into its interior. The Tablanket folds out to become a table with two cup-holders and a surrounding outdoor blanket. It can even be nailed down at the corner with four accompanying tent stakes. It's an essential solution for any day spent outdoors. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.1/10 - Popularity: 39% | Activity: 46% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Special](https://www.trendhunter.com/special) > [Holiday](https://www.trendhunter.com/holiday) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Hybrid Outdoor Products:** The combination of a picnic blanket and built-in table in the Tablanket demonstrates the trend of creating hybrid products for versatile outdoor use. - **Portable Dining Solutions:** The Tablanket's portable, foldable design addresses the need for convenient and comfortable dining options in outdoor settings, presenting opportunities for disruptive innovation in the portable dining industry. - **Enhanced Outdoor Experiences:** The Tablanket's ability to provide a clean eating surface and a cozy blanket for outdoor activities highlights the trend of enhancing outdoor experiences through innovative products that prioritize convenience and comfort. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Outdoor Recreation:** The Tablanket offers a new solution for outdoor enthusiasts who want to enjoy comfortable and convenient dining experiences during their adventures, presenting opportunities for disruptive innovation in the outdoor recreation industry. - **Camping and Hiking Equipment:** The Tablanket's portable design and integration of a picnic table make it a potential game-changer in the camping and hiking equipment industry, providing campers and hikers with a versatile and space-saving solution for outdoor dining. - **Outdoor Dining and Leisure:** The Tablanket's combination of a picnic blanket and built-in table caters to the needs of outdoor diners and leisure seekers, offering an opportunity for disruptive innovation in the outdoor dining and leisure industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Multifunctional Park Picnic Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foldable-picnic-furniture.md) - [Compact Outdoor Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-1.md) - [Tactical Camping Furniture Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pknk-lightweight.md) - [Multifunctional Camping Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ruck-river-camping-table.md) - [Tree-Mounted Camping Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kimberlite-table.md) - [Essential Camping Solar Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/essential-camping-solar-tables.md) - [Sustainable Soft Beach Blankets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nomadix-festival-blanket.md) - [Communal Outdoor Cooking Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-grill-table.md) - [All-in-One Ultralight Mats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ultralight-mat.md)
