# Beach Glass Bars This DIY Outdoor Bar is Perfect for the Summer Season By M | Published 2014-12-30 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/outdoor-bar References: [instructables](http://www.instructables.com/id/Concrete-and-Beach-Glass-Bar/) & [instructables](http://www.instructables.com) Instructables user Alan Teed shares a simple how-to project based off a tutorial found in the 'Concrete Countertops' book that teaches you how to create a stunning outdoor bar from beach glass. This elegant DIY project brings the aesthetic of the sand and the ocean to your backyard decor. To replicate this outdoor bar on your own, begin by creating the shape of the bar's countertop. Teed chose to use a pointed triangle design to add depth and a unique twist on the traditional rectangular bar design. Teed uses a mix of blue and brown colored concrete in a wavy design to replicate a beach's shoreline. Then Teed sprinkled various pieces of colored beach glass into the sandy portion of the concrete for added texture. The overall look combines a [rustic design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-de-praia) with chic beach appeal. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 31% | Activity: 57% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **DIY Outdoor Bars:** Opportunity for businesses to create DIY outdoor bar kits for easy construction and customization. - **Repurposing Materials:** Opportunity for businesses to explore using unconventional materials, such as beach glass, to create unique and environmentally-friendly products. - **Coastal Aesthetic:** Opportunity for businesses to capitalize on the popularity of coastal-inspired designs and decor for various outdoor spaces. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Improvement:** Opportunity for the home improvement industry to develop new products and tools specifically for DIY outdoor bar construction. - **Sustainable Design:** Opportunity for the sustainable design industry to incorporate repurposed materials like beach glass into their products. - **Outdoor Furniture:** Opportunity for the outdoor furniture industry to create coastal-inspired pieces and accessories for outdoor bars and spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Recycled Bar Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bar-installation.md) - [Sea-inspired Bar Interiors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/civico-29.md) - [Luxurious Bar Carts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luxurious-bar-cart.md) - [Whiskey Barrel-Decorated Bars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/laizhou-bar.md) - [Elevated Pool Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ledge-partypad.md) - [Solid Wood Bar Carts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solid-wood-bar-cart.md) - [Colorful Outdoor Drinkware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/outdoor-drinkware.md) - [Nostalgic Sleek Sky Bars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peridot-bar.md) - [Stylish Bar Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bar-accessories.md)
