'Ossiform' is a Danish medical technology company leveraging [3D printing technology](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fibreseeker-3) to create [custom bone implants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hip-resurfacing) optimized for each patient. The startup recently raised $6.7 million USD to expand its services in the United States and eventually earn full [FDA](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pelvic-implants) clearance to begin using its medical solutions.

One benefit of Ossiform over other 3D printing medical companies comes from its materials. The company uses a paste material comprised of beta-tricalcium phosphate and necessary fatty acids, which results in a true bone-like material. The company's motto, as a result, is "we print bone," as opposed to its competitors which use metal and plastic compounds.

In addition to printing shapable bone implants, Ossiform is looking into enhancing its implants with medicine that slowly dissipates into the surrounding area to heal the wound more quickly.
