# Connect-the-Dots Ledges The Organize Shelf Affords a Fun and Freeform Way to Stash Your Things By Amelia Roblin | Published 2013-01-11 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/organize-shelf References: [designspotter](http://www.designspotter.com/product/2013/01/ORGANIZE.html) & [sayswho.dk](http://sayswho.dk/slider_organize.html) The [rigid horizontal ledge](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pli-steel-wall-shelf) isn't ideal for storing just any object, giving great value to the odd-looking Bolia Organize Shelf. Sure, this sort of [wall-mounted storage system](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wallmounted-storage) has not been tried and tested like its single-plank counterparts, yet it certainly appears to offer some practical possibilities. The installation process might begin with the fixing of the two end pegs to the wall. Both short edges of the felt strap are looped around these to establish the span of the sagging shelf. Three more oak dowels can be positioned somewhere between the original two, but are really intended to be arranged in an apparently haphazard way. By hooking the fabric around the wooden bolts of SAYS WHO's Organize Shelf, you can bring the [soft surface into tension](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brickbox-modular-shelving) or let it hang. Either configuration would do well to support the stashing of different types of items. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.0/10 - Popularity: 40% | Activity: 13% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Freeform Shelf Design:** The Organize Shelf offers a new perspective on wall-mounted storage systems, emphasizing a freeform and customizable design that can be adjusted according to user needs. - **Multi-purpose Shelving Systems:** The Organize Shelf affords a unique opportunity for innovation in multi-purpose shelving systems, as it can be used for storing various types of items in a flexible, non-rigid way. - **Tension-based Storage Solutions:** The Organize Shelf harnesses tension in its design and could spark new trends in tension-based storage solutions that rely on soft surfaces for holding and storing objects. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Decor:** The Organize Shelf could disrupt the home decor industry by offering a new and unique way to store and display items on walls. - **Furniture Design:** Thanks to its innovative design, the Organize Shelf can influence the furniture design industry by encouraging more experimentation with unconventional materials and shapes. - **Storage and Organization:** The Organize Shelf may inspire the storage and organization industry to rethink the way items are stored and displayed, breaking away from traditional rigid shelving systems. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Abstract Jigsaw-Like Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spectator-shelf.md) - [L-Shaped Stacked Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loft-shelf.md) - [Mounted Colorful Shelving Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ledge-shelf.md) - [Dynamic Storage-Display Shelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shelf-life.md) - [Modular Grid-Style Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bend-shelf-by-spenser-atlas.md) - [Jigsaw Puzzle-Inspired Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/puzzle-shelf.md) - [Clock-Accented Shelf Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/omega-shelf.md) - [Wall-Mounted Modular Organizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wallwerx.md) - [Modern Convertible Shelving Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blendend.md)
