# Creamy Cookie Catapults This Oreo Separator Machine Blasts the Dessert into Pieces By Gil Cohen | Published 2013-03-27 | Pop Culture Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oreo-separator-machine References: [walyou](http://walyou.com/pump-action-oreo-gun/) & [youtube](http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=vZj5rMECi7A) Some people, myself included, prefer the cookie and some people prefer the cream, yet this [Oreo](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/exclusive-oreo-items) separator machine was built for those who "simply love neither cookie nor creme," as described by Jörg Sprave of The Slingshot Channel on [YouTube](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mrbeast). More of a gun than a slingshot, this wooden cookie launcher can be loaded with several [Oreos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oreo-twists-lab) at once, and shoots them out of the barrel through the snap of a rubber elastic when the trigger is released. Sprave shoots the Oreos through a cardboard box, smashes them against a brick wall and sees if they can penetrate ballistic gelatin. In the end, the purpose of this Oreo separator machine isn't to get a clean separation of cookie and cream, rather the purpose is to blast the entire cookie into crumbs. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.7/10 - Popularity: 11% | Activity: 33% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Viral](https://www.trendhunter.com/viral) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Cookie-blasting Machines:** Opportunities to create and market cookie-separating machines that use different methods such as blasting to separate cookies and cream. - **Food-related Weapons:** Innovation opportunities for designing and building unconventional food-themed weapons for entertainment and fun such as cookie blasters. - **Gaming with Food:** Innovative game developers can create games that incorporate food and cooking elements like Oreos and cookie blasting to attract a wider audience. ### Who This Affects Most - **Food Equipment Manufacturing:** Manufacturing companies can explore the production of cookie-separating machines that use different methods such as blasting to meet the growing demand. - **Entertainment:** Opportunities exist for food-related entertainment companies to market and create exciting and engaging experiences like cookie blasters for consumers. - **Gaming:** Game development companies can leverage food-related elements like cookie blasting to design games that appeal to consumers who enjoy interactive food experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Creamy Sandwich Cookie Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cookies-cream-cake.md) - [Sandwich Cookie Protein Bars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oreo-protein-bar.md) - [Creamy Cookie Treats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/exclusive-oreo-items.md) - [Nutty Sandwich Cookies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reeses-x-oreo.md) - [Cookie-Stuffed Sandwich Cookies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oreo-loaded.md) - [Crushed Cookie Ice Creams](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dark-chocolate-cookies-n-cream.md) - [Customizable Cookie Pop-Ups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oreo-twists-lab.md) - [Celebratory Sandwich Cookies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oreo-chocolate-confetti-cake-cookies.md) - [Meta Cookie-Filled Cookie](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-most-oreo-oreo-cookies.md)
