# Oceanic Seating The Orca Comfort Chair is Sure to Make a Splash in Your Living Room By Alex Scott | Published 2010-04-27 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orca-comfort-chair References: [industrialdesignserved](http://www.industrialdesignserved.com/Gallery/Orca-Comfort-Chair/445726) & [coroflot](http://coroflot.com/tnokovski) Everybody like a [good recliner](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stressless-adam), there's no question there, but the [Orca](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cast-iron-cookware-set) comfort chair is seriously laid back. I mean, look at this thing, you're basically level with the ground when you're sitting on it. I don't think I would be able to make it through any movie all the way because after five minutes on this chair, I would undoubtedly slip into a deep coma. The Orca comfort chair was created by Apostol Tnokovski and gets some of its visual inspiration from those peaceful, salt water creatures of the same name. From the looks of it, the chair look as comfortable as sitting on a whale's back too. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.4/10 - Popularity: 33% | Activity: 32% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Comfortable Seating:** The Orca Comfort Chair provides a new level of comfort, opening opportunities for innovative and ergonomic seating designs. - **Laid Back Living:** The Orca Comfort Chair's relaxed design offers a disruptive innovation for creating more casual and chilled living spaces. - **Nature-inspired Furniture:** The Orca Comfort Chair draws inspiration from marine creatures, paving the way for nature-inspired furniture designs with a unique aesthetic appeal. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture:** The furniture industry can explore the potential of creating more comfortable and unconventional seating options like the Orca Comfort Chair. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can utilize the Orca Comfort Chair's laid-back design to enhance the cozy and relaxed ambiance of residential and commercial spaces. - **Home Entertainment:** The Orca Comfort Chair presents an opportunity for the home entertainment industry to incorporate more immersive and comfortable seating solutions for an enhanced viewing experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sea Creature-Inspired Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/seat-urchin.md) - [Comfortable Artful Sculpted Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/asari.md) - [Ergonomic Luxe Comfortable Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lounge-chair-1.md) - [Slick Ultra-Comfortable Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/meditation-chair1.md) - [Cozy Oversized Cushion Armchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/perron-pillo-lounge-chair.md) - [Sleek Ergonomic Seats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oc14.md) - [Stylishly Comfortable Recliners](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/king-living-king-cloud-recliner.md) - [Responsive Recliner Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/davidhugh-aiora.md) - [Ultra-Comfy Seating Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cushy-lounge-chair.md)
