It's funky, isn't it? Ferruccio Laviani designed this idiosyncratic lighting object for [Foscarini](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foscarini-1). It's guaranteed to infuse any room with quite a bit of life. The structure of the piece comprises a steel stem with a sharp and pointed tripod base. This component might look a bit severe on its own, but [playful personality](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/little-lebow-table-lamp) was added upstairs. Five little metal offshoots support light fixtures and rather unusual lampshades. These are made from [flat plates of glass](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/comet-pendant) that have either been treated to a frosted white finish or an extremely colorful one. On a single Orbital Floor Lamp, you'd be easily drawn to the brilliant cluster of abstract shapes in red, green, blue and yellow. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.1/10 - Popularity: 29% | Activity: 27% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Idiosyncratic Lighting:** Opportunity for designers and manufacturers to create lighting fixtures with unique and unconventional designs. - **Colorful Lampshades:** Opportunity for glass manufacturers to produce more colorful frosted glass or explore new methods of coloring glass for lampshades. - **Abstract Shapes for Home Decor:** Opportunity for designers to create home decor items such as wall art, vases and rugs with colorful abstract shapes similar to those on the Orbital Floor Lamp. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Interior Design:** Opportunity to incorporate more unique and unconventional lighting fixtures, like the Orbital Floor Lamp, into interior designs. - **Glass Manufacturing:** Opportunity to explore new methods of coloring glass and produce more colorful frosted glass for lampshades. - **Home Decor Retail:** Opportunity to introduce and market home decor items with colorful abstract shapes similar to those on the Orbital Floor Lamp. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Contemporary Modular Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/point-floor-lamp.md) - [3D-Printed Mood Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orbyt.md) - [Creature-Like Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-pink-robots-won.md) - [Childhood-Inspired Magnetic Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orbe.md) - [Suspended Halo Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lamplox-minimalist-floor-lamp.md) - [Cutesy Coiled Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-helix-lamp.md) - [Luxurious Futuristic Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/futuristic-table-lamp.md) - [Planetary Dual-Illumination Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orbis-lamp.md) - [Eclipse-Inspired Whimsical Pendant Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/space-traveler.md)
