The Firefly II Pendant Light is designed by Marc Daniel for CB2 and gives any room an updated method of providing unique lighting for a room. The fixture is suitable with either filament light bulbs or CB2's frosted candelabra bulbs to give it a more opaque look. The orb lighting looks best over top of a long table or desk to emphasize its linear design. The hanging lights come in a set of nine or five, each one hanging at a slightly different height to create a modern asymmetrical appearance. The spheres hang from a nickel-plated iron canopy and are held up by black cords. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 58% | Activity: 44% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Modern Orb Lighting:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop a smart orb lighting fixture that can be controlled via smartphone or voice assistant. - **Linear Design Lighting:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create a linear lighting fixture that can be customized in length and shape to suit different spaces and aesthetics. - **Asymmetrical Hanging Lights:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design a modular hanging lights system that allows for easy customization and reconfiguration of the hanging positions. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate sensors and automation technologies into lighting fixtures to enhance the overall user experience and energy efficiency. - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Combine lighting fixtures with other functional elements, such as smart speakers or charging docks, to provide multi-purpose solutions. - **Hospitality:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop lighting fixtures that can create dynamic and customizable lighting scenes to enhance the ambiance and mood in hotels, restaurants, and entertainment venues. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Horizontal Glass Sphere Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/comet-pendant.md) - [Otherworldly Lighting Fixture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/otherworldly-lighting-fixture.md) - [Childhood-Inspired Magnetic Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orbe.md) - [Suspended Origami-Like Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sora-light.md) - [Delicate Illusory Ceiling Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aria-light.md) - [Calming Orb Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orb-lamp1.md) - [Enchanting Hanging Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hf-series.md) - [Origami-Inspired Suspended Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sora-pendant-light.md) - [Curved Pendant Ceiling Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nova-light.md)
