Inspired by a dragon illusion by Jerry Andrus, [YouTube](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chrome-dino) user Brusspup fashioned the dinosaur out of paper so that it would appear that it’s had and eyes would follow the viewer around. With a pyramid-shaped body and a head in two parts with misaligned eyes, the optical illusion T-Rex is meant to be folded and assembled like a 3D shape made in elementary school. This optical illusion is a fun gimmick and a great and affordable way to entertain the kids with something other than the television or video games. This is one dinosaur that you want to have around the house. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.1/10 - Popularity: 7% | Activity: 19% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Alpha - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Life-Stages](https://www.trendhunter.com/life-stages) > [Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/toys) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Optical Illusion Toys:** Developing optical illusion toys for children and adults to provide unique and innovative entertainment. - **Paper Craft Products:** Increasing paper craft products for children to promote creativity and innovation in an affordable way. - **DIY Toy Kits:** Developing DIY toy kits for children to promote creativity and innovation in a fun and affordable way. ### Where This Applies - **Toy Industry:** Opportunities to disrupt the toy industry by providing unique and innovative toys that promote creativity and imagination. - **Arts and Crafts Industry:** Opportunities to disrupt the arts and crafts industry by providing affordable and innovative paper craft products for children and adults. - **Education Industry:** Opportunities to promote creativity and innovation in the education industry by using paper craft products and DIY toy kits as a teaching tool. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Interactive Fossil-Inspired Costumes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wearable-dinosaur-costume.md) - [Dinosaur Intricate Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dinosaur-fossils-tyrannosaurus-rex.md) - [Reversible Dinosaur Plushies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glow-in-the-dark-dinosaur-plushies.md) - [Kinetic Optical Illusion Puzzles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-woodflow.md) - [Digital Dinosaur Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bitzee-jurassic-world.md) - [Dinosaur Fossil Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-dinosaur-fossils-trex-skull.md) - [Collectible Dinosaur Desk Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chrome-dino.md) - [Dinosaur Tile STEAM Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dino-adventure-pack.md) - [Optical Illusion Fidget Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mezmocoin-infinity.md)
