The idea of the “Slowest Story Ever Told,” is one of the most innovative but ridiculous ideas I’ve ever heard. The idea behind it is a story that reads itself to you (meaning you can’t cheat). While all that sounds nifty, the catch is that the story is hidden beneath [ink layers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dehydrating-book) of Opium’s Infinity issue.

The nine-word story will be revealed word by word until the story is completed. Each word is covered in a thicker ink layer than the one before it.

"The ink is designed to break down as it is exposed to [ultraviolet light](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-outside-book) and if Keats’ calculations are correct this will occur at a rate of one word per century," PSFK explains.

The total reading time of [the magazine cover](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twentynine-zine) amounts to an entire millennium (so don’t ever count on knowing what it says).

Once again, both amazingly interesting but a little crazy.
