# Delightful Dish Tabletops Ontwerpers Bright Table is Fit for Fish, Flowers or Fruity Decor By Amelia Roblin | Published 2011-04-16 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ontwerpers-bright-table References: [dornob](http://dornob.com/beware-of-falling-books-shelved-all-in-one-workstation/) & [ontwerpers.nu](http://www.ontwerpers.nu/nl/collectie/bright-table) I’ve come across my fair share of [quirky coffee tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-coffee-tables), but the Ontwerpers Bright Table is definitely one of my favorites. Designed as a squat, [snow-colored surface](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zen-collection-1), the piece is immeasurably enhanced by the simple insertion of a bowl below grade. Interrupting the furnishing’s smooth, flat finish is a place to store anything from fruit and junk food, to a fishbowl and flower pots. The piece comes with another part that looks much like a [pretty pendant lamp](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/little-lebow-table-lamp), but hangs down from the ceiling into precise placement above the indentation. Able to act as a lid to conceal the uncommon items within, the floating fixture could truly be installed at any height. Both elements of the Ontwerpers Bright Table create a splendid play on solid and void in the space of any room. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.3/10 - Popularity: 22% | Activity: 9% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Versatile Tabletops Design:** The integration of purposeful design with creative layouts not only aids highly efficient use of space but also elevates overall aesthetics and functionality. - **Customizable Furniture Integration:** A trend where furniture items can be customized with embedded options to perform a variety of secondary functions. - **Suspension Furniture:** A trend towards furniture that hangs from ceilings or walls, which utilizes lesser space on the floor while adding an interesting element to any room. ### Where This Applies - **Interior Design Industry:** Disruptive innovations in interior design, where furniture serves the purpose of decorative-art and function simultaneously. - **Furniture Manufacturing Industry:** Innovations in manufacturing, where furniture items can be designed and produced at a scale, with lesser resources and value-addition. - **Home Decor Industry:** A trend shift towards furniture items, which are embedded with designs that are multipurpose, aesthetic, and adaptable for customers' changing needs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Acrylic Multicolor Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lucid-side-tables.md) - [Shimmering Oceanic Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/liquid-table.md) - [Curvaceous Abstract Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pet-table.md) - [Curvaceous Animalistic Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookpet-coffee-table.md) - [Playful Accent Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bug-table.md) - [Candy-Inspired Cylindrical Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/candy-table.md) - [Geometric Cutout Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/designated-table.md) - [Fluid Topographic Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dune-table.md) - [Blurred Bold Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blur-coffee-table.md)
