The spacious abode is atypical for Singapore, which has a densely populated urban landscape in most cases. The home is built on a slight incline and is centered on a spiral staircase. [Rough and natural materials](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yngsj) are used in the construction of the exterior of the home, like stone, concrete, timber and glass. The [outdoor pool and courtyard](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sanctum-house) create the oasis like feel of the home. The straight-lines and modern design of the home contrast with the [natural surroundings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sadowski-house) to create a contemporary and sublime living space. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.5/10 - Popularity: 85% | Activity: 73% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Feng Shui Architecture:** Opportunity for architects and designers to incorporate principles of Feng Shui into modern and sleek building design. - **Natural Materials Construction:** Incorporating rough and natural materials, such as stone, timber, and concrete into modern architecture to create an earthy feel without sacrificing luxury. - **Urban Oasis Living:** Designing residential spaces that provide a sense of tranquility despite being located in a bustling urban environment. ### Who This Affects Most - **Architecture:** Opportunity for architects and designers to incorporate natural elements and principles of Feng Shui into contemporary building design. - **Real Estate:** Designing and marketing urban properties that offer a sense of relaxation and a connection to nature. - **Hospitality:** Developing resorts and boutique hotels that offer guests a luxurious urban escape with natural elements and a relaxed atmosphere. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Floating Courtyard Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baan-oo.md) - [Circular Garden Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/villa-o.md) - [Discreet Modern Brazil Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jf-residence.md) - [Sloped Site Concrete Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oeiras-house.md) - [Contemporary Weatherized Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/acute-house.md) - [Coastal Terraced Villas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/villa-bo.md) - [Landscape-Integrated Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-by-the-grove.md) - [Tranquil Courtyard Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sanctum-house.md) - [Compact Calming Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-sheltered-space.md)
