# Geometrically Compiled Seating The 'One Hundred Triangles Stool' is Algorithmically Constructed By Meghan Young | Published 2010-09-08 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/one-hundred-triangles-stool References: [thedesignblog.org](http://www.thedesignblog.org/entry/one-hundred-triangles-stool-adds-algorithmic-comfort-to-seating/) & [riccardobovodesign.net](http://www.riccardobovodesign.net/) If you ever wondered what it would be like to sit atop a hundred triangles, then I suggest you take a look at the 'One Hundred Triangles Stool.' Produced with the help of an algorithm, each stool features a hundred triangles arranged randomly to create a unique seat. Designed by Riccardo Bovo, the One Hundred Triangles Stool is surprisingly [made out of wood](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sedia-tonda) even though it looks like sheets of butcher paper. Light in weight, it nevertheless seats users comfortably. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.6/10 - Popularity: 30% | Activity: 41% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Algorithmic Furniture Design:** Designing furniture using algorithms to create unique and innovative seating solutions. - **Geometric Seating:** Using geometric shapes and patterns to design functional and visually interesting seating options. - **Lightweight Furniture:** Creating furniture that is light in weight for easy portability and user comfort. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Leveraging algorithmic design techniques to create unique and customizable seating options. - **Interior Design:** Incorporating geometrically compiled seating to add a modern and artistic touch to interior spaces. - **Event Management:** Using lightweight and visually appealing seating options for easy setup and transport at events. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Multifaceted Geometric Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stackable-stools.md) - [Stool-Inspired Design Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hackability-of-the-stool.md) - [Expressive Triple-Layer Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/3ply-assemble-stool.md) - [Minimal Wooden Webbed Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knot-stool.md) - [Visibly Undulating Stool Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/concave-stool.md) - [Minimal Geometric Chair Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/euclid-chair.md) - [Recycled Paper Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-plod-stool.md) - [Biodegradable Stool Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ergonomic-stool.md) - [Handcrafted Stone Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pebble-stool.md)
