# Speaker-Inspired Seating Omri Barzeev's 'Zaza' Chair Blends Felt & Wood By Marissa Brassfield | Published 2009-08-02 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/omri-barzeev-zaza-chair References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2009/07/31/the-zaza-chair-by-omri-barzeev/) & [omrid](http://www.omrid.com/) Omri Barzeev's 'Zaza' chair is meant to blend [felt and wood together](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kartela) in a harmonious fashion, and for me it does--primarily because it reminds me of a speaker. The [conical shape of the seat](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shanti-chair) itself and the joints where the wood meet the felt remind me of a giant version of a home theater speaker. We've seen a number of [innovative furniture designs that use sound](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eversolo-se100-speakers) and aural cues to help inform their shape.
