The classic and fun photobooth concept has been taken to a whole new level thanks to the Omote 3D. Instead of [instant pictures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retro-digital-toy-camera) or even motion-capturing flipbooks, the Omote 3D project captures the essence of a person in figurine form. The creation of such toys is nothing new, but applying it to everyday portrait of a person is.

The process of the Omote 3D is pretty straightforward. A person's [entire body is scanned](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tou), the information of which is transferred to a computer to design schematics to print a [realistic figurine](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solobo-emotion-friends).

Conceived and created by Spoon & Tamago, a blog and studio based in New York City and Tokyo, Japan, the Omote 3D is currently part of a pop up installation for the Eye of Grye exhibition.
