# Open-Concept Organization Desks The 'Olly Desk' by Pavel Vetrov Offers Ample Space for Essentials By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2020-06-29 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/olly-desk References: [yankodesign](https://www.yankodesign.com/2020/06/29/this-desk-designs-attention-to-detail-makes-it-perfect-for-organizational-addicts/) & [pavelvetrov](http://www.pavelvetrov.com/) Desks with drawers and ample storage are great for organization but often have a large design that takes up large amounts of space in an office, so the 'Olly Desk' is positioned as an [open-concept alternative](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/single-desk). Designed by Pavel Petrov for Zegen, the desk features cutouts on the top rear section that can be used for placing writing utensils and/or styluses, while also offering areas for docking smartphones and/or tablets. This will keep everything within reach and also allow for dual-screen use to enhance workflow. The 'Olly Desk' also features a [traditional drawer](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/otis-hanger-30) for holding other essentials out of sight and is rounded off with a small cutout for [cable management](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balolo-setup-cockpit) to prevent cords from cluttering up the workspace. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.7/10 - Popularity: 90% | Activity: 71% | Freshness: 9% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Open-concept Desks:** Creating minimalistic and functional furniture solutions in the future of workspace design. - **Dual-screen Use:** The integration of multiple screens for higher productivity in the digital age. - **Integrated Technology:** The incorporation of technology as an essential element of furniture design and overall workspace functionality. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Design:** New products that cater to the changing needs of modern workers and their work environment for increased efficiency and productivity. - **Technology:** Incorporating technology into office furniture design and functionality, creating new products for the technology industry. - **Interior Design:** Integrating furniture design, technology and workspaces design trends for creating more efficient and productive work environments in the future. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Clutter-Tackling Desk Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/customizable-desk-organizer.md) - [Minimalist Modular Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/console-desk.md) - [Pocket Storage-Equipped Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pocket-desk.md) - [Minimalist Storage-Friendly Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-bold-desk.md) - [Minimalist Storage-Paired Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diag-desk.md) - [Sleek Storage-Packed Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/threesix-desk.md) - [Elegant Working Desk Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mindset-builtin-computer-desk.md) - [Ergonomic Multi-Use Desk Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kabinett-desk.md) - [Minimalist Demure Designer Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/backup-desk.md)
