The Ollie Chair works with the pull of a string, which enables it to expand into a modern looking chair that's suitable for both indoor and outdoor settings due to its use of durable materials like wood and aluminum. By revitalizing the aesthetic of a [folding chair](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/patan-chair), Ollie aims to enable consumers who are focused on maintaining a sleek look in their homes to integrate more functional furnishings. In addition, consumers can even customize designs on the backs of the chairs to make them suit their personal brands. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.9/10 - Popularity: 91% | Activity: 79% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Modular Seating:** The modular design of the Ollie Chair presents an opportunity for furniture companies to explore further customization and personalization options for consumers. - **Multifunctional Furniture:** The Ollie Chair's ability to be transformed and stored easily highlights the opportunity for furniture companies to create multifunctional pieces to cater to small living spaces and minimalist lifestyles. - **Customizable Furniture:** The Ollie Chair's customizable design presents an opportunity for furniture companies to offer more options for consumers to personalize and make pieces truly their own. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture:** The Ollie Chair's modular, multifunctional, and customizable design expands opportunities for innovation and growth within the furniture industry. - **Interior Design:** The Ollie Chair's sleek and modern design offers opportunities for interior designers to incorporate multifunctional and flexible furniture pieces into their projects. - **Retail:** The Ollie Chair's modular and customizable design could present opportunities for retailers to offer a unique experience for customers by allowing them to design and build their own chairs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modular Seating Design Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pla-modular-chair.md) - [Recycled Scissor-Like Folding Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fauld-chair.md) - [Adventurous Versatile Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flipster-seat.md) - [Modular Knit Seating Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knit-one.md) - [Legless Floor Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-bold-chair.md) - [Sliding Flatpack Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folio-chair.md) - [Modular Flatpack Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/opoo-multifunctional-furniture.md) - [Expanding Three-in-One Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/expandy.md) - [Modular Table Seatings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-table-and-chair.md)
