Conceptualized to add dynamism and a new look to otherwise boring city lamps, these torches are slender and intriguing because of their modern shape and ergonomic design. Supported by a metal pole, this lamp has, as its name suggests, a twisted body and a windmill on top. The best part about this object is that it can used for several energy sources -- electricity, [solar, wind and batteries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iggy-lamp) -- to function. Additionally, its program can be setup to illuminate in different colors; the windmill creates a colorful spiral effect. Twist by Olesya Smirnova is a phenomenal lamp that protects the environment while artistically decorating public spaces. Smirnova specializes in architecture, interior and industrial design. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.3/10 - Popularity: 30% | Activity: 32% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Colorful Street Lamps:** Innovative twist lamps by Olesya Smirnova add color to public spaces and disrupt traditional street lighting design. - **Multi-energy Source Lighting:** Twist lamps can use a variety of energy sources and provide an opportunity for companies to develop eco-friendly lighting solutions. - **Programmable Lighting Effects:** The ability to set up different color programs for Twist lamps offer new creative possibilities for public space lighting design. ### Where This Applies - **Urban Design:** Twist lamps provide a potential for architects and urban designers to incorporate colorful, eco-friendly lighting into their projects. - **Renewable Energy:** Twist lamps offer an opportunity for renewable energy companies to develop new eco-friendly lighting solutions and expand their market. - **Industrial Design:** Designers and manufacturers can explore new possibilities in lighting design, including programmable lighting effects and multi-energy source solutions, inspired by Olesya Smirnova's Twist lamps. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Tornado-Inspired Illuminator Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/storm-lamp.md) - [Twisting Timber Lampshade Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twisted-lasercut-wooden-lampshade.md) - [Versatile Torch-Style Lighting Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cono.md) - [Inflatable Colorful Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/squeeze-inflatable-lamp.md) - [Japanese Lantern-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/madco.md) - [Evening Sky-Inspired Lighting Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/evening-sky.md) - [Pear-Shaped Outdoor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/outdoor-lamp1.md) - [Umbrella-Inspired Whimsical Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wasaga-lamp.md) - [Rechargeable Portable Torch Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/piton-portable-lamp.md)
