The lamp consists of two parts including the [hurricane glass exterior](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-balloon-lamp) and the oil orb that keeps the oil and wick confined. The orb sits within the hurricane glass and, thanks to several invisible notches, is held suspended in place to offer illumination. The Modern Transcend Oil Lamps are crafted using [borosilicate glass](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tuloa) and are capable of being customized with different small objects including shells or rocks that can be placed below the orb. Additionally, the [clean-burning paraffin oil](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-soft-solids) that's used for fuel can be dyed to provide a decorative touch that accentuates the floating aesthetic. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.1/10 - Popularity: 36% | Activity: 19% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Floating Oil Lamps:** Designing oil lamps in a unique way to offer a new aesthetic appeal and adds an element of surprise - **Borosilicate Glass Craftsmanship:** Incorporating durable and transparent borosilicate glass for a sleek, modern design with reliable quality - **Customizable Oil Lamps:** Allowing users to personalize their oil lamps by adding small objects or dying the paraffin oil to match their preferred aesthetic ### Where This Applies - **Interior Design:** Integrating unique and visually appealing oil lamps as a functional and decorative centerpiece enhances the interior design of homes or commercial spaces - **Home Decor:** Partnering with retailers to offer customized oil lamps to provide unique decorative accessories for homes - **Hospitality:** Providing oil lamps as an elegant addition to decor or table settings in hotels, restaurants or bars creates a memorable guest experience while enhancing ambiance ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Calming Orb Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orb-lamp1.md) - [3D-Printed Mood Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orbyt.md) - [Luxe Candle-Melting Lamp](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/infra-luna-20.md) - [Ethereal Oil Lamp Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-realm-of-light.md) - [Smoky Illumination Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sunset-lamp.md) - [Floating Illusion Light Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lp-lamp.md) - [Vintage-Inspired Candle Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vintageinspired-candle-lamps.md) - [Mesmerizing Aroma Diffuser Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aroma-lava.md) - [Childhood-Inspired Magnetic Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orbe.md)
