To make these Schrank cupboards, the designers repurpose the [reclaimed oil drums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/basket-sculptures) by cutting out a door and sliding in shelves into the containers’ strengthening ribs. The door is stabilized with a couple of guitar strings and closes snugly with the help of magnets. With a [shiny chrome handle](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cork-collection), the Schrank cupboard is undeniably a super cool, [stackable storage cabinet](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/center-center-storage). The folks at Lockengelot are now taking pre-orders for the stylish Schrank oil drum cabinets. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.4/10 - Popularity: 50% | Activity: 43% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Upcycling:** There is an opportunity for companies in the furniture industry to innovate sustainable practices by repurposing items that would otherwise be discarded. - **Industrial Chic:** Fashion and home decor industries have an opportunity to ride the wave of this trend by creating products that combine materials such as polished metals and rustic wood. - **Stackable Design:** Manufacturers in the storage solutions industry can capitalize on the Schrank cupboard's design, and create similar stackable storage units that are versatile and portable. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture:** Companies that produce furniture can take inspiration from Lockengeloet's Schrank cupboard and upcycle items to create unique designs that align with customer values around sustainability. - **Fashion:** Subcategories of the fashion industry, such as accessories, can use materials such as polished metals and rustic wood to create products that align with the industrial chic trend. - **Storage Solutions:** Companies in the storage solutions industry have an opportunity to create stackable and versatile storage units that are easy to transport and are aesthetically pleasing, inspired by the Schrank cupboard's design. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Oil Drum Dog Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/indusigns-dog-bed.md) - [Coconut Tree-Made Tall Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jean-servais-somian.md) - [Metallic Multifunctional Storage Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kabine-101.md) - [Volcanic Rock-Inspired Cabinet Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tuff-pencil-cabinet.md) - [Cannabis-Friendly Modern Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/high-bar.md) - [Modular Storage Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-storage-cabinet.md) - [Stackable Cork-Like Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drum-stool-1.md) - [Thoughtful Wheeling Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cabinet-on-wheels.md) - [Sandbox-Like Modular Storage Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-storage-cabinet1.md)
