# Spiraling Sun Shelters This Ohad Lustgarten Shade is a Movable Refuge From the Elements By Trenton Millar | Published 2012-09-05 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ohad-lustgarten References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2012/09/05/shade-in-disguise/) & [lustgartendesign.wordpress](http://lustgartendesign.wordpress.com/about/) The Ohad Lustgarten Shade is an amazing piece of furniture that blurs the lines between furniture, sculpture and art. The [skeletal spiraling design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moving-furniture) of this shade makes it look like an art installation first and a [sun shade](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-swim-shady) second. This beautiful piece can be used for different functions in many different spaces. In the home, the Ohad Lustgarten Shade can sit by your window to provide privacy from the sun and nosy neighbors. Bring it with you to the desert and use it to provide shelter from the sun, but, if a freak sand storm rolls in, you'll be prepared to shield yourself from the harsh gale. If you look for more than just function in your furniture, pick up the Ohad Lustgarten Shade as a utilitarian [piece of artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inbetween-umbrella). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.5/10 - Popularity: 75% | Activity: 51% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Artistic Furniture:** Opportunity for designers to incorporate artistic elements into functional furniture pieces. - **Multi-functional Design:** Potential for creating furniture that serves multiple purposes and adapts to different environments. - **Privacy Solutions:** An opening for innovative shading and privacy solutions in various spaces. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Design:** Opportunity for furniture designers to create unique and artistic pieces that transcend conventional functionality. - **Outdoor Equipment:** Potential for creating versatile sun shelters that can withstand different weather conditions. - **Interior Design:** A need for innovative privacy solutions that blend art and functionality in residential and commercial spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Marine-Grade Sun Shades](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-shibumi-shade.md) - [Shaded Modern Outdoor Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ufo-shelter.md) - [Light-Equipped Outdoor Sun Covers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/led-starry-night-sun-shade.md) - [Wellbeing-Harnessing Fan-Like Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shanti-chair.md) - [Wooden Structural Outdoor Bedes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hut-lounge-bed.md) - [Water-Friendly Sun Shades](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bote-hangout-shade.md) - [Connected Dual Functioning Umbrellas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hulasol.md) - [Experimental Shelter Tents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grayhus.md) - [Elegant Exterior Lounge Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lounge-bed.md)
