# Organizational Office Lanterns The Illumigami is an Office Lighting System That Values Efficiency By Vasiliki Marapas | Published 2015-06-05 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/office-lighting References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2015/06/03/lanterns/) & [viget](http://viget.com/) Digital design firm Viget Labs has developed the 'Illumigami,' an office lighting system that's designed to organize, streamline and productionize. The feeling of running around looking for a last-minute meeting space at the office is a familiar one for anyone who has worked the nine-to-five daily grind. The Illumigami is a delicate, [origami-shaped lantern](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tsubomi) that hangs outside of conference rooms and [changes colors to indicate](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chameleon-workplace) whether or not the rooms are available. Best of all, the Illumigami office lighting system is synced to [Google](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/google-dlight) Resource Calendar, and automatically updates the status of these conference rooms. Taking the guess-work out of finding a spot to meet will save time and confusion in the office, allowing people to stay on-task. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.2/10 - Popularity: 66% | Activity: 51% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Smart Office Lighting:** The Illumigami demonstrates the trend of using smart lighting technology to improve office efficiency. - **Workspace Optimization:** The Illumigami highlights the trend of optimizing office spaces to enhance productivity and streamline operations. - **Internet of Things (iot) Integration:** The Illumigami exemplifies the trend of integrating IoT technology into office environments for seamless automation. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Office Supplies:** The Illumigami presents an opportunity for office supplies manufacturers to develop smart lighting solutions for improved office management and organization. - **Smart Home Technology:** The Illumigami opens doors for smart home technology companies to expand their offerings into the corporate environment and cater to office automation needs. - **Digital Design Services:** The Illumigami creates opportunities for digital design firms to develop innovative lighting systems that enhance the functionality and aesthetics of office spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Productive Mood Lighting Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/teixeira-design-studio.md) - [Origami-Inspired Vase Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gingko-smart-vase-light.md) - [Multi-Purpose Workspaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kokuyo.md) - [Dynamically Customizable Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/illum-desk-light.md) - [Modular LED Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ilo-lamp.md) - [Flexible Workstation Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/archflex-desk-lamp.md) - [Origami-Inspired Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ori-lamp.md) - [Storage-Friendly Task Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/storage-lamp.md) - [Traditional Tower-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-pagoda-lamp.md)
