The design features a functional cubic console that swings open into a [functional workstation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-leandesk) complete with file cabinets, shelves, an LED lamp and a built-in power supply. The station features a dark wood design with a matte finish that appears to be a nod toward the design style of the 1970s that's been making a comeback in recent years. This [minimalist furniture design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/workspace-designs) serves as a stylish alternative to traditional workstations that's both compact and highly practical. The 'Office in a Cube' was launched to combat the banality of [office cubicles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cabinet) by creating a workstation that serves the same purpose with personality. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.1/10 - Popularity: 53% | Activity: 33% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Compact Workspace Solutions:** The 'Office in a Cube' reflects a trend of creating compact and functional workspaces that are suitable for small office areas. - **Personalized Office Design:** The design of the 'Office in a Cube' showcases the trend of personalized office spaces that add personality and style to traditional work environments. - **Retro-inspired Office Furniture:** With its nod to the design style of the 1970s, the 'Office in a Cube' taps into the trend of incorporating retro elements into modern office furniture designs. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Office Furniture:** The 'Office in a Cube' provides opportunities for the office furniture industry to innovate and offer compact, customized and retro-inspired workstations. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can seize the opportunity to create personalized, functional and aesthetically pleasing office spaces using the concept of the 'Office in a Cube'. - **Workspace Solutions:** The 'Office in a Cube' presents opportunities for workspace solution providers to develop compact and versatile solutions that cater to the growing need for flexible and efficient work areas. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Quirky Solo Office Pods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/work-capsules.md) - [Personal Cubicle Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ma-camilla-isabel-reyes.md) - [Bench Wall Furniture Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cubicle.md) - [Adaptive Color Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chameleon-workplace.md) - [Dynamic Modular Office Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sunon-furniture-mixcube.md) - [Modular Work Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mespace-workstation.md) - [Ergonomic Multi-Use Desk Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kabinett-desk.md) - [Ultra-Slick Modern Cube Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-cube-chair.md) - [Contemporary Dynamic Workspaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/officetopia.md)
