# Hidden Sliding Offices This Office Area Cleverly Blends into the Wall Thanks to a Sliding Door By M | Published 2015-08-22 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/office-area References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2015/08/21/design-detail-a-sliding-door-hides-this-home-office/) & [moloneyarchitects.au](http://www.moloneyarchitects.com.au/) While office areas are a space most homes require, they often take up ideal space that can be used otherwise. Offering a creative solution to this problem, design firm Moloney Architects created an office space that is fully concealable thanks to expertly placed wood sliding door panels. When designing the home, Moloney Architects found a clever way to separate the office from the dining room with chic sliding door panels. Since the dining room had a spacious open-concept design, creating an office space that was slim but functional seemed to be a key focus. The office takes up a small space in the dining room with room for a desk, chair and shelves. The office can then be fully hidden from sight thanks to sliding wood panel doors that match the walls making the office seem as though it disappears entirely. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.0/10 - Popularity: 90% | Activity: 81% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Concealable Workspaces:** Designing office spaces that can be hidden from sight, allowing for efficient use of space in homes. - **Sliding Door Innovations:** Creating sliding door panels that blend seamlessly with the surrounding walls, providing flexibility in space design. - **Functional Office Integration:** Integrating workspaces into existing living areas, optimizing the functionality of multi-purpose rooms. ### Who This Affects Most - **Interior Design:** Incorporating innovative sliding door solutions into residential and commercial spaces. - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Designing and producing compact yet functional office furniture for small, concealed workspaces. - **Architecture:** Developing architectural designs that prioritize efficient space utilization in homes and offices. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Practical Rotating Wall Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/revolver-wallmounted-desk.md) - [Space-Saving Foldable Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foldable-desk1.md) - [Modular Fold-Out Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foldable-wooden-workstation.md) - [Folding Multifunctional Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ignite-desk.md) - [Sculptural Wall Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-wall-desk.md) - [Versatile Sideboard Desk Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hideaway-swing-desk.md) - [Curvaceous Privacy Wall Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kwk-promes-open-house.md) - [Fold-Out WFH Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/writing-bureau.md) - [Cabinet-Style Kitchen Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/next125-pocket-system.md)
