# Sleek Swaying Daybeds The Odu Rocker by Rosconi Looks Like an Egg Shell By Meghan Young | Published 2014-01-12 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/odu-rocker References: [trendir](http://www.trendir.com/archives/007472.html) & [rosconi](http://www.rosconi.com/products/collections-of-die-schoenheit/product/show/odu/) The Odu Rocker could be likened to an eggshell that has been upholstered in comfy cushions in order to be converted into a piece of furniture. But unless it was made for Thumbelina, the Odu Rocker cannot have been made from such a fragile material. Instead, it simply takes on a shell look for a sleek aesthetic and perfect ergonomics. Interestingly, its name means 'cavern' in Hungarian. Designed by Flo Florian and Sascha Akkermann from Confused-Direction for Rosconi, the Odu Rocker also lets people sway relaxingly in its embrace, as its name suggests. Yet with a simple change in position, the Odu Rocker can become a more traditional bucket seat. It is also available in a lounge version. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.3/10 - Popularity: 84% | Activity: 68% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Eggshell-inspired Furniture:** Designing furniture that takes inspiration from the shape and aesthetics of an eggshell can create a sleek and unique look for the industry. - **Convertible and Versatile Furniture:** Creating furniture that can easily transform into different forms and adapt to various user preferences opens up opportunities for customized and multi-functional designs. - **Relaxing and Ergonomic Seating:** Developing seating options that prioritize comfort and ergonomics can address the growing demand for relaxation and well-being in the furniture industry. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Design:** Exploring eggshell-inspired designs and convertible furniture can lead to disruptive innovations in the home decor industry. - **Interior Design:** Integrating eggshell-inspired furniture and versatile seating options can revolutionize interior design by offering customizable and space-saving solutions. - **Wellness and Lifestyle:** Incorporating relaxing and ergonomic seating into wellness spaces and lifestyle products can contribute to the overall well-being and comfort of individuals. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modernized Rocking Chair Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nodding-chair.md) - [Functional Decorative Rocking Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rool-stool.md) - [Contemporary Rocking Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/penguin-rocking-chair.md) - [Plush Sculptural Lounge Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rokko.md) - [Soothing Boat-Like Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/canoa-chair.md) - [Contemporary Rocking Pouffe Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/platero.md) - [Otherworldly Themed Rocking Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ufo-rocking.md) - [Fabric-Wrapped Rocking Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zhe-rocking-chair.md) - [Sea Creature-Inspired Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/seat-urchin.md)
