In fact, people might mistake some of the pieces for actual sculptures rather than [practical furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/touch-collections). Made for contemporary homes that are full of carefully curated designs and personality, the ODESd2 Collection is all about standing out and making a statement. What makes these particular designs interesting is that most of them were created by the students of the firm’s very own design school. Some of the stand out pieces in the ODESd2 Collection includes a [boxy, cutout chair](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/australian-design-brand) as well as a couch made up of tons of cushions that have been strapped together in a very BDSM sort of way. The collection shows the promise of rising industrial designers and the direction such products are going in. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.9/10 - Popularity: 92% | Activity: 76% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Sculptural Furniture Designs:** Innovative sculptural furniture designs blur the line between art and functionality. - **Design School Creations:** Furniture designs created by design school students showcase fresh perspectives and unique concepts. - **Statement-making Furniture:** Furniture pieces that make a bold statement through unconventional shapes and arrangements. ### Where This Applies - **Interior Design:** Opportunity for interior designers to incorporate sculptural furniture designs into their projects for a distinctive aesthetic. - **Art and Design Education:** Creating platforms and opportunities for design school students to exhibit their innovative furniture creations. - **Furniture Manufacturing:** For furniture manufacturers, exploring the production of unique and attention-grabbing statement furniture pieces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Reimagined Monolithic Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fossil-furniture.md) - [Sophisticated Art Deco-Inspired Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/2025-furniture-collection.md) - [Elevated Masterful Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/og-studio-1.md) - [Stealthy Home Furnishing Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/credo-collection.md) - [Nature-Inspired Artful Home Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ovo-and-dado.md) - [Oblong Color-Blocked Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/meritalia-morphologica-collection.md) - [Design-Forward Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/furniture-collection1.md) - [Juxtaposed Materials Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wool-diaries-collection.md) - [Vibrant Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vibrant-furniture-collection.md)
