# Futuristic Cyclops Lighting Inveno Design Studio's Octopus Lamp Looks Like a Cute Robot By Meghan Young | Published 2011-08-16 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/octopus-lamp References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2011/08/15/octopus-lamps-by-inveno-design-studio/) & [inveno.cz](http://www.inveno.cz/) The Octopus lamp has an adorable robotic presence to it. In fact, it looks like a character model for a new [Pixar](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/animationinspired-led-lamp) film. Yet it is a lot more practical than simply an artistic mold for a movie. This light fixture offers a futuristic touch for homes and offices, illuminating the darkest corners in a sleek and stylish manner. Designed by Inveno Design Studio for manufacturer EXX Stone, the Octopus lamp is part of its 2011 collection. Completely made out of [DuPont](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foam-sealant) Corian, it features different colored LED lights such as red, blue and yellow. Full of personality and character despite its relatively minimalist design, the Octopus lamp is available in two forms, as a [table light fixture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/juba-tl1-table-lamp) and a floor light fixture. Although a sophisticated design, the Octopus lamp is quite playful in the end. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.4/10 - Popularity: 53% | Activity: 72% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Futuristic Lighting:** The Octopus lamp showcases a futuristic design that can inspire innovative lighting solutions. - **Robot-inspired Design:** The Octopus lamp's cute robotic presence highlights the potential for incorporating robot-inspired designs into various products. - **Sleek and Stylish Illumination:** The Octopus lamp offers a sleek and stylish way to illuminate dark corners, presenting opportunities for creating elegant lighting fixtures. ### Who This Affects Most - **Interior Design:** The Octopus lamp introduces new possibilities for interior designers to incorporate futuristic lighting concepts into their projects. - **Home Decor:** The Octopus lamp's unique design opens up avenues for disruptive innovation in the home decor industry, allowing for the creation of distinctive lighting products. - **Office Furniture:** The Octopus lamp's playful yet functional design presents opportunities for manufacturers to develop eye-catching lighting fixtures to enhance office spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Luxurious Futuristic Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/futuristic-table-lamp.md) - [Animation-Inspired LED Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/animationinspired-led-lamp.md) - [Geometric Industrial Desktop Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nebula-lamp.md) - [Creature-Like Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/octopus-center-table.md) - [Pasta-Inspired Curvaceous Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neotenic-lamp.md) - [Opulent Outdoor Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gubi-seine-portable-lamp.md) - [3D-Printed Aquatic Life Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooj-design-wavy-lamp.md) - [Calming Orb Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orb-lamp1.md) - [Adjustable Sculptural Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ovo-lamp.md)
