Govaert & Vanhoutte Architects designed the Obumex Outside building in Staden, Belgium.

The main design objective for this project was to create a space that effectively blurred the distinction between indoors and outdoors. The architects opted for a material palette of concrete and glass. The concrete is used to divide the space, while the glass encourages openness and natural light. The building is flanked by a terrace and swimming pool, both of which add to the fluidity and openness of the layout.

The space is primarily used as an exhibition space for furniture from brands like [Christian Liaigre](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/azzedine-alaa-foundation), [Andreu World](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bolete), Unopiu and [Promemoria](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luxury-furniture-line). The modern homeware looks right at home inside of this classical, yet contemporary, space.
