# Observation Tower Homes This Bulgarian Home Provides a Panoramic View of the Surrounding Area By David Ingram | Published 2015-10-26 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/observation-tower References: [dezeen](http://www.dezeen.com/2015/10/23/observation-house-io-architects-gabion-walls-viewing-deck-bulgaria/) & [ioarchitects](http://www.ioarchitects.com/) Sofia, Bulgaria-based architectural firm I/O Architects designed a striking private residence that's meant to mimic the view and feel of an observation tower. Located on a [hill in North Eastern Bulgaria](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/b2a-architects), the 'Observation House' sits above a series of stone-filled cages that give the site a rough and rugged exterior. Above the stones sits an elevated artificial meadow with a comfortable [glass pavilion](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-under-the-poplars) that provides a beautiful 360-degree view of the surrounding farmland. Below the observation deck, an almost cave-like entrance has been built into the rocky exterior. Inside this observation tower home a polished stone and warm wood interior nicely contrasts with the stones that make up the rougher outside of the building. Additional amenities included in the Observation House also include a sauna, massage room and a personal pool area. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.5/10 - Popularity: 92% | Activity: 65% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Observation Tower Homes:** The trend of designing homes that mimic the view and feel of an observation tower provides unique and panoramic perspectives for homeowners. - **Elevated Artificial Meadows:** The trend of incorporating elevated artificial meadows in architectural designs creates serene and scenic spaces that offer a harmonious connection with nature. - **Cave-like Entrances:** The trend of building cave-like entrances in residential architecture adds an element of intrigue and natural beauty to the overall design. ### Where This Applies - **Architecture:** The architecture industry can explore and specialize in creating innovative observation tower homes that redefine traditional living spaces. - **Landscape Design:** The landscape design industry can capitalize on the trend of elevated artificial meadows by offering unique and customized solutions for creating picturesque outdoor spaces. - **Hospitality and Wellness:** The hospitality and wellness industries can incorporate the concept of cave-like entrances in their establishments to create immersive and memorable experiences for guests. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Nature Hyperboloid Observation Towers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/observation-tower-krven.md) - [Mountain-Top Lookout Towers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/guard-patrol.md) - [Panoramic Scenic Dreamy Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-sozopol.md) - [Floating Courtyard Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baan-oo.md) - [Trapezoidal Concrete Forest Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ksa-studen.md) - [Remote Viewing Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/telepresence-observation-pavilion.md) - [Landscape-Overlooking Modern Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/telescope-house.md) - [Interactive Observation Wooden Birdhouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/domik-ptashki.md) - [Residential Mountain Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/avber-house.md)
