The mirrored disk is embedded with LED light around its edges, and the arched brace holds it all together. The [hybrid furniture concept](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/engrid-desk-lamp) challenges basic notions of furniture design through its unconventional properties whose services don't compliment one another. When asked "What’s the use for an unlit lamp?” and “What’s the use for a mirror in the dark?” Tirotto's response was "None." The Oblio fixture was created for Secondome Gallery, was presented at the independent design fair, Operae. The fixture has a [pivoting disk](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bton-brut) which can be adjusted to face different directions, allowing the consumer to explore different functions and angles. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.2/10 - Popularity: 93% | Activity: 86% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Hybrid Furniture Design:** The OBLIO fixture challenges traditional furniture design by combining the functionality of a lamp and a mirror in a unique and unconventional way. - **Art-inspired Furniture:** The OBLIO fixture blurs the line between art and design, offering a piece of functional furniture that can also be appreciated as a work of art. - **Multifunctional Furniture:** The OBLIO fixture's ability to pivot and adjust its functions opens up opportunities for innovative designs that cater to diverse user needs. ### Where This Applies - **Interior Design:** The OBLIO fixture introduces a new approach to furniture design that can inspire interior designers to create bold and unconventional spaces. - **Lighting:** The OBLIO fixture's integrated LED lights present opportunities for lighting companies to explore innovative lighting solutions that merge with other functional furniture pieces. - **Art Galleries:** The OBLIO fixture's combination of art and functionality makes it an intriguing addition to art galleries looking to showcase unique objets d'art that serve practical purposes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Illusory Mirror Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mirror-table-lamp.md) - [Optical Illusion Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hooptical.md) - [3D-Printed Mood Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orbyt.md) - [Circular Hollow Timeless Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lost-collection.md) - [Structural Two-Part Lighting Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luno-lamp.md) - [Suspended Halo Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lamplox-minimalist-floor-lamp.md) - [Suspended Mirrored Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mirror-collection-1.md) - [Wavy Dual-Action Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/archvyli.md) - [Artistic Magnetic Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scacco-matto-lamp.md)
