# Sensory Stimulation Dining Tables The Conceptual 'Oasix' Table Emits Sounds and Smell By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2022-09-26 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oasix-table References: [yankodesign](https://www.yankodesign.com/2022/09/25/this-multi-sensory-table-adds-a-smell-and-sound-to-your-environment-when-in-use/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=this-multi-sensory-table-adds-a-smell-and-sound-to-your-environment-when-in-use) The conceptual 'Oasix' table is an ultra-modern piece of furniture for the home to help integrate a naturalistic experience into an urban living space. The table mimics the experience of an oasis-like retreat by stimulating the person with sounds and smells when seated around it. An [elongated Bluetooth speaker](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orris-speaker-concept) is built into the base, while the [middle section holds a planter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plantable-office) at the same level as the tabletop to keep greenery as a main part of the dining experience. The conceptual 'Oasix' table is the design work of Junseo Oh, Junwan Woo, [Jihoon Park](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/backpack-amplifier), Yoon Seoyoung and Dagyeong Kim, and maintains an industrial aesthetic. This counterbalances the naturally inspired functionality of the furniture piece to make it great for urban homes with a couple or a family alike. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.5/10 - Popularity: 84% | Activity: 68% | Freshness: 13% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Sensory Stimulation Furniture:** Opportunity to integrate sensory experiences, such as sounds and smells into furniture designs to enhance consumer's relaxation or recreational experiences - **Urban Oasis Environment:** Opportunity to create natural retreat experiences in spaces that tend to lack greenery or outdoor spaces - **Functional Aesthetics:** Opportunity to combine industrial or functional designs with nature-inspired elements to create modern, multi-functional products ### Who This Affects Most - **Interior Design:** Incorporate sensory stimulation furniture in interior design projects to create unique, memorable and enjoyable spaces for customers - **Hospitality:** Hospitality establishments can employ sensory stimulation furniture in their spaces to enhance guests' dining and leisure experiences - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Manufacture sensory stimulation furniture for urban dwellers who crave nature-inspiration and multi-functional products ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Subtly Smart Dining Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/etto-table.md) - [Modular Table Seatings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-table-and-chair.md) - [Fluid Topographic Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dune-table.md) - [Natural Sound-Amplifying Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amplification-of-the-senses-chair.md) - [Multifunctional Speaker-Incorporated Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/prisoom.md) - [Dynamic Interaction Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/enigmasurface.md) - [Sensory Relaxation Smart Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/idiya-smart-lamp.md) - [Dynamic Sculptural Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-transformation-table.md) - [Interlocking Puzzle-Like Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/connect-table.md)
