# Splattered Organic Furniture Alon Dodo's Modern Oak Dressers Feature an Imperfect Stain Design By Riley von Niessen | Published 2016-08-02 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oak-dresser References: [alondodo](http://www.alondodo.com/Default.asp?LangId=2) Alon Dodo is a designer based in Israel who handcrafts organic furniture that employs creative techniques -- a concept that's evident in his series of solid oak dressers that are adorned with splattered black paint. Other projects from Alon Dodo include a bed frame that's composed of integrated wood slabs, a bench that's supported by a base of interconnected bars and a drawer unit that's patterned with geometric engravings. Each of Alon Dodo's pieces works to push the boundaries of expectations and uses material in a new way. With his oak dressers, Alon Dodo complements the natural markings of the wood by contrasting it with black paint. With this, the organic furniture plays to a modern aesthetic that generates a stimulative environment which showcases the beauty of imperfection. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.9/10 - Popularity: 87% | Activity: 81% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Organic Furniture Design:** There is an opportunity to disrupt the furniture industry by incorporating organic and creative designs with unconventional materials. - **Imperfect Stain Techniques:** Designers can explore utilizing unconventional and imperfect staining techniques to add a unique touch to their furniture pieces. - **Modern Aesthetic Furniture:** There is a trend towards modern furniture aesthetic that values imperfection and pushes the boundaries of expected designs, presenting opportunities to innovate within this framework. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Manufacturing:** The furniture manufacturing industry could benefit from utilizing more organic designs and creative techniques to produce unique and appealing furniture pieces. - **Interior Design:** Interest in organic, unique, and modern design trends in furniture presents an opportunity for designers to incorporate these elements into their interior design schemes. - **Artisanal Craftsmanship:** There is an opportunity for artisans to experiment with unconventional staining and material techniques to create organic and unique furniture pieces that appeal to a modern aesthetic. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Artful Wooden Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knowledge-of-all-dark-things.md) - [Vibrant Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vibrant-furniture-collection.md) - [Reimagined Monolithic Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fossil-furniture.md) - [Nature-Inspired Artful Home Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ovo-and-dado.md) - [Asymmetric Linework-Based Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/doodle-collection.md) - [Imperfect Timber Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/no1-common.md) - [Open-Ended Dynamic Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nebil-zaman.md) - [Striped Down Dimensional Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ron-arad-1.md) - [Hand Carved Cork Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dol-furniture.md)
