# City Acronym Furniture The NY and LA Tables by Faktura are Simply Stunning By Meghan Young | Published 2010-05-21 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ny-and-la-tables References: [trendsnow.net](http://www.trendsnow.net/2010/05/ny-and-la-tables.html) & [fakturadesign](http://www.fakturadesign.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2&products_id=18) I want both of these NY and LA Tables--both are amazing in their simplicity and clever design. As you can see from the images above, the legs of each [side table](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tong-side-table) are actually acronyms for the city they represent. Designed by New York-based studio Faktura, the NY and LA Tables feature a [powder-coated steel frame](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/intra-side-table) finish and a Corian or bamboo top. Available in [various colors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/runda) (white, orange and red), this table would complement any home decor setting easily. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.6/10 - Popularity: 54% | Activity: 15% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Acronym Furniture:** Acronym-based furniture is a unique way to capture city pride through home decor and representational pieces can become popular. - **Steel Frame Tables:** Powder-coated and durable, steel frames paired with different tabletop materials creates endless design possibilities for trendy tables. - **Minimalist Home Decor:** The simplicity of this design adds an aesthetic and functional appeal to minimalist living spaces and furniture trends could shift towards simplicity. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Design:** Furniture makers can experiment with incorporating unique symbols such as acronyms into furniture designs, giving a new form and function to traditional pieces. - **Home Decor:** Unique furniture, like the NY and LA Tables, can cater to a growing audience that seek creative and functional ways to showcase their love of their hometowns. - **Interiors:** Minimalist designs that maximize functionality and ascetics in the home also simplify lifestyles.
