# Meshy Illuminating Loungers The Nuvola di Luce Chair Introduces Comfort and Atmospheric Qualities By Amelia Roblin | Published 2013-10-14 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nuvola-di-luce References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2013/10/13/nuvola-di-luce-by-studio-thesia-progetti/) & [thesiaprogetti.it](http://www.thesiaprogetti.it/) For a seemingly minimalist piece, it's rather surprising what the [Nuvola](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/denimupholstered-sofas) di Luce chair does. A [lightweight frame](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-lite-chair) and even lighter upholstery are enhanced with an unexpected illuminating effect. Studio Thesia Progetti designed a comfy lounger in which to sit, but a lamp was also incorporated to infuse the room with brilliance. The [fine steel structure](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foln) defines the flaring squared backrest and the side edges of the seat and base. Elastic mesh material has been bound around every suggested surface to create a translucent appearance. In one version of the Natevo chair, a flat rectangular lamp is installed within its bottom. This faces up to fill the furnishing with light and to cast a lovely diffuse glow over the entire space. The Nuvola di Luce chair makes a radiant addition to a modern room in either white, beige or black. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.0/10 - Popularity: 39% | Activity: 43% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Illuminated Furniture:** The integration of lighting elements into furniture design creates a unique and atmospheric visual experience. - **Translucent Materials:** The use of elastic mesh material to create a translucent appearance in furniture design adds a sense of lightness and elegance. - **Incorporation of Lighting:** The incorporation of lamps or lighting fixtures within furniture provides practical functionality while also enhancing the overall ambiance of a space. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Design:** Furniture designers can explore innovative ways to incorporate lighting elements into their designs, creating unique and captivating pieces. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can utilize translucent materials in furniture to add depth and visual interest to a space, while also considering the lighting elements for an enhanced ambiance. - **Lighting Design:** Lighting designers can explore opportunities to integrate lighting fixtures into furniture, providing both functional and aesthetic benefits to users. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Traditional Vibrant Outdoor Armchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/net-lounge.md) - [Industrial Light-Equipped Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hidden-light-chair.md) - [Supportive Lightning Bolt Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightning-chair.md) - [Ultra-Comfy Seating Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cushy-lounge-chair.md) - [Flatpack Ultra-Modular Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nebula-chair.md) - [Stainless Steel Reflective Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dream-view-chair.md) - [Wooden Foundation Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nebula-lounge.md) - [Wavy Lounge Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wavy-lounge-chair.md) - [Cubic Featherlight Seat Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/please-hold-up-chair.md)
