# Cumulus Living Room Lights The Nuvol Lamp is an Acrylic Cloud Designed for Relaxation By Michael Hines | Published 2013-07-04 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nuvol-lamp References: [tuvie](http://www.tuvie.com/nuvol-lamp-by-kutarq-studio/) & [kutarq](http://www.kutarq.com/) The Nuvol Lamp is a throwback to the good old days when "the cloud" actually meant "clouds." Designed by [Kutarq Studio](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kutarq-studio), Nuvol is a suspended light fixture created in the shape of a cloud. This was done purposefully, as clouds are often symbols of calm and relaxation. The light that emits from the acrylic lamp is soft and comes out in varying hues. Kutarq Studio has even suggested stringing a few Nuvol Lamps together to create a sort of functional [cloud front](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightmass-2025-pendants) located right in your home. Nowadays, lamps and lights of all sorts are being tweaked to have added functionality and to be more eye-appealing. In the case of the Nuvol Lamp, it works as a light and can also double as a [functional piece of art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soft-lamp). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.5/10 - Popularity: 37% | Activity: 31% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Functional Lighting:** The Nuvol Lamp demonstrates the trend of lights being designed with added functionality. - **Cloud-inspired Designs:** The cloud-shaped Nuvol Lamp reflects the trend of incorporating cloud-inspired designs into home decor. - **Multifunctional Artwork:** The Nuvol Lamp exemplifies the trend of lights being designed to serve both as functional lighting and as artistic pieces. ### Where This Applies - **Interior Design:** The Nuvol Lamp presents an opportunity for interior design professionals to incorporate unique and functional lighting options in their projects. - **Home Decor:** The cloud-inspired Nuvol Lamp aligns with the trend in the home decor industry of incorporating nature-themed designs. - **Lighting Manufacturing:** The Nuvol Lamp showcases an opportunity for lighting manufacturers to create innovative and eye-catching lighting products that can also serve as artwork. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dreamlike Bubble-Shaped Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airshape-lamp.md) - [Geometric Industrial Desktop Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nebula-lamp.md) - [Ambient Aesthetically Pleasing Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pofu.md) - [Balloon-Like Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soft-blown.md) - [Moon-Inspired Lighting Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lua.md) - [Ice Cream-Resembling Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soft-serve-lamp.md) - [Bubble-Inspired Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bubbles-lighting-design.md) - [Hollow Candle-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lampe.md) - [Malleable Connected Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pofu-lamp.md)
