Hibinosekkei + Youji No Shiro specializes in designing children's facilities; they were inspired by nearby forests to inform this new project. The architects wanted to create a space where young children could play and explore. To achieve this, they incorporated numerous nature-inspired elements. Across the nursery's second floor are various potted plants that bring the outdoors indoors. Even the walls of the nursery are adorned with forest-like mosaics and wallpapers. The designers chose rich wood flooring that further evokes a feeling of the outdoors. Contrastingly, the numerous mirrored walls and exposed beams create an opposing industrial feel. Ultimately the design successfully blends nature with industrialism to produce a warm, inviting, and exploratory environment for children, Image Credit: HIBINOSEKKEI, [designboom](https://www.designboom.com/architecture/hibinosekkei-youji-no-shiro-forest-inspired-nursery-japan-08-31-2021/), [designboom](https://www.designboom.com/architecture/hibinosekkei-youji-no-shiro-forest-inspired-nursery-japan-08-31-2021/) ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.2/10 - Popularity: 74% | Activity: 42% | Freshness: 10% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Life-Stages](https://www.trendhunter.com/life-stages) > [Babies](https://www.trendhunter.com/babies) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Nature-inspired Nurseries:** Designing children's nurseries inspired by nature and adding natural elements to the interior space - **Biophilic Design:** Creating indoor spaces that incorporate natural elements and evoke a connection to the outdoors - **Industrial-organic Design:** Blending industrial and natural design elements to create a unique and inviting environment ### Sectors Adopting This - **Children's Education:** Designing innovative and nature-focused nurseries to promote exploration and learning in young children - **Interior Design:** Incorporating biophilic and industrial-organic design elements to create unique and inviting indoor spaces - **Architecture:** Exploring new designs that blend nature and industrial elements to create inviting environments for young children to play and explore ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Town-Like Classroom Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kindergarten-of-museum.md) - [Nature-Inspired Indoor Playgrounds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sarit-shani-hay.md) - [Vibrantly Designed Nursery Centers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multichildcare-crche.md) - [Nature-Promoting School Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/primary-school-1.md) - [Tent‑Filled Daycare Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/deya-day-care.md) - [Puzzle-Inspired Italian Nurseries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/noahs-ark-nursery.md) - [Forested Residential Buildings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forest-bath.md) - [Historically Based Nurseries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rgis-roudil.md) - [Playful Learning Villages](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kinder-rain.md)
