Bruker Corporation has reported receiving several purchase commitments from major academic institutions for its specialized nuclear magnetic resonance systems — also known as NMR systems. The potential acquisitions are being financially backed by significant federal grants from the [National Institutes of Health](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/doudna-supercomputer) and the [National Science Foundation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cellular-transport).

The New York Structural Biology Center has procured a multifield NMR relaxometry apparatus. Described as the first of its kind in North America, it is designed to analyze molecular motion in proteins and nucleic acids across an exceptionally wide spectrum of magnetic field strengths. The University of Delaware has acquired a 600 MHz dynamic nuclear polarization NMR spectrometer, an instrument that significantly enhances signal sensitivity for examining complex substances ranging from biological cells to novel materials. [Northwestern University](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nanomaterial-therapy) has ordered an 800 MHz NMR spectrometer intended for high-resolution analysis of biomolecular structures.
